About Road Less Travelled
Founded in 2024, The Road Less Travelled Journal (RLT Journal) is a digital platform dedicated to celebrating and supporting women living abroad as they navigate the beautiful and sometimes challenging landscapes of identity, belonging, and cross-cultural connection.
Through essays, storytelling, journaling prompts, and workshops, we explore what it means to create a life abroad: to grow, to heal, and to belong, wherever we are.
Our Goal is simple:
To tell real stories
To build an authentic community
To offer tools for reflection and reconnection
Meet the Team
In 2020, during the uncertainty of the COVID years, Maureen shared a set of 20+ reflective questions with women in her network, simply to stay connected and encourage honest reflection during an isolating time.
What began as a small, heartfelt initiative to gather women’s voices slowly grew into something much bigger: a book- Our Untold Truths.
Our Untold Truths (Empowering Women: The Untold Truths We Wish We Knew) is a collection of stories by women, for women, exploring resilience, growth, and the lessons learned along the way. It reflects on what women have carried through life, what they are learning in the present, and what they are choosing to let go of in order to live more conscious, fulfilled lives.
The book features stories from 27 women across 3 continents and 14 countries, each offering a deeply personal perspective on identity, healing, and becoming.

Why Road Less Travelled?
The Road Less Travelled Journal exists as a soft landing place within that movement: a digital home for women, and sometimes men, living abroad who are learning, unlearning, and rebuilding themselves in unfamiliar landscapes.
Living abroad is more than relocation. It is reinvention.
It is holding one identity in one hand while slowly shaping another in the other. It is having your heart stretched across borders, feeling both rooted and unrooted at once. It is learning how to belong again, while navigating the quiet, complicated spaces in between.
At RLT Journal, we tell real stories of life abroad, stories of growth, loneliness, courage, motherhood, friendship, faith, work, and becoming. Through essays, reflections, interviews, and community-driven narratives, we create space for honesty, connection, and self-discovery.
